Rib City of Fairfield, Oh believes we can and should help each other. One way in which we are helping is by providing the food for an outing to help defray the costs of medical expenses for a family in our community.
Read Their Story:
We are blessed with two happy, beautiful daughters. If you ever met them, you'd never know that Morgan was born blind, or that Riley was born with life-threatening heart problems.
Morgan was three months old when we realized she was blind. She was diagnosed with what is called CHED. CHED stands for Congenital Hereditary Endothelial Dystrophy. When she was a year old, doctors transplanted the corneas in both of Morgan's eyes. Morgan also had a total of 19 surgeries which are accompanied with extensive doctors visits from three different doctors. She has done well with her surgeries to date and her vision is actually high functioning at the 20/100 level.
Riley was born prematurely with a rare congenital heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Artresia. She was taken at birth to the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) at Cincinnati Children's where she spent the first two months of her life. As a result, Riley has had two open heart surgeries, a "mee" procedure and has an artificial conduit and Gore-Tek valve added to her aorta. She has also had three Cath Lab Surgeries for adding stints and a balloon to work her arteries. Riley has also been diagnosed with Digorge Syndrome which has made it hard for her to eat and as a result, she has a feeding tube.
So, we would like to thank all of you who have volunteered, donated, or participated in Morgan's and Riley's cause and our quest for our Daughters' health.
